Whose mountain are you climbing?
Let’s reclaim our right to rest, together.
A Self-Liberation Podcast for Professionals & Advocates
The Rest of Us with Dana Tenille Weekes explores rest as self-liberation for professionals and advocates who are on the brink of burnout (or beyond it) due to the demands of work, loved ones, friends, strangers, and this dizzying world.
Through insightful offerings, storytelling, thought-provoking conversations, honest self-reflection exercises, creative expression, and laughter, The Rest of Us cultivates a community to rethink rest as a way to liberate us.
Here’s the thing:
Many of us have been conditioned to live in unrest: to please, fight, and climb other people’s mountains.
And, the commercialized self-care industry, as a whole, isn’t focused on you climbing your own mountain. It’s not as profitable to lead people to themselves.
In The Rest of Us podcast, Dana engages our community of listeners to approach rest as a mindset and a cultivated space. This is because many of us are told to rest, but not guided on how to do so.
Rest as self-liberation calls us to unlearn before we can first learn.
To understand that we are human beings (emphasis on beings). To be enlivened by our own details, rather than by what society tells us to be and produce. To be in community and take this journey together.
